In signs of fresh strains in the Samajwadi Party ahead of its state and national convention, its patron Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday removed Akhilesh-loyalist Ram Gopal Yadav from the post of secretary of the Lohia Trust and appointed his brother Shivpal Yadav in his place. The SP is holding its state convention on September 23 in Lucknow while its national convention is scheduled on October 5 in Agra.
