Age limit relaxed for JSY benefits

The Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana (JSSY), a much-hyped scheme led the sub-centres (SC) to handle 27.68% of institutional deliveries in 2010-11 as compared to 12.26% in 2008-09.

More than 109 lakh pregnant women have benefited from the cash assistance provided under the Janani Suraksha Yojana in 2011-12. Similarly, the financial expenditure under the scheme increased to more than 1,500 crore rupees during 2011-12.
