11% rise in rural incomes but migration continues unabated

80% of the surveyed districts did not show any change in migration, reports Sanjeeb Mukherjee. The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) has succeeded in creating livelihood assets but has not met one of its main objectives -- ending migration.
