JD Majethia Conducts an Acting Workshop!!

Workers of the Sheth Vadilal Sarabhai Hospital protested against the recent diktat of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to join the civic body funded Medical Education Trust (MET), from the present VS board trust.

The objective with which donor families of Sheth Vadilal Sarabhai, Sheth Chunilal Chinai and Jaisingh Chinai had erected facilities in 1929 was to provide "free and highly subsidized services" to those who cannot afford treatments.

For VS Hospital, several decades of serving patients have come to a cropper. Sarabhais and Chinais contributed Rs4 lakh and Rs1.2 lakh respectively to set up the 120-bed hospital in 1931. Today, they have been handed the shorter end of the stick.
