Sailor dies of gunshot injury on board naval ship

A 23-year-old Navy sailor today died of a gunshot injury from his weapon on board a ship under the Southern Naval Command, and an inquiry is on into the incident, a defence spokesman said. The sailor, Raxit Kumar Parmar, a native of Kheda district of Gujarat, was on sentry duty on board INS Jamuna when the incident occurred at about 7.30 am.
